Immanuel Christian School

725 N. Locust St.
Hazleton, PA 18201

Immanuel Christian School is a non-denominational, Christ- following school that exists to partner with parents as we serve and shepherd the hearts and minds of children through an excellent education founded on Biblical principles. We were founded in 1979, by Dr. Tedd Tripp and his wife Margy. Together they authored Shepherding a Child's Heart, Instructing a Child's Heart, and they currently provide training to families, Pastors, and counselors world-wide. We have been serving the greater Hazleton area for more than 30 years.

ICS is an independent school that is not affiliated with any particular church and we have over 27 churches represented by our diverse student body. Our faculty has been teaching at ICS for an average of 17 years. We have high academic standards with an emphasis on character development. Our reputation with local colleges is that we are an outstanding academic institution that graduates students of integrity. We are fortunate to have free busing from six school districts including Crestwood, Hazleton, Weatherly, Berwick, Tamaqua, and Mahanoy City.

Students not only have the benefit of small class sizes but also an excellent teacher-to-student ratio that creates a productive and focused classroom environment. We have an average of 16 students-per-teacher ratio in the entire school, and an average of 1 teacher per 9 students in grades K – 2. We encourage an environment where students can grow in character, wisdom, and discernment to pursue the life God has called each student to live. We partner together with parents to invest in our students so they become leaders who make a difference for the kingdom of God here and around the world.
